Named to National Advisory Committee

Joan Chittister has been invited to hold a position on the Advisory Committee for the Seventh Mother Emanuel AME Commemoration Service for the Martyred. This commemoration service happens annually to honor the memories of the members of the Mother Emanuel Church who, during Bible Study, were killed by a white supremacist in June 2015. This year, the service, held on June 17, featured a panel of Biblical scholars who discussed the spiritual state of our nation. Other people involved with the Advisory Committee include Reverend Doctor James Forbes and Reverend Doctor Clarence G. Newsome, along with Reverend W. Douglas Tanner, Jr, the Co-Founder of the Faith and Politics Institute. More information will be available here.
